2012's seminal work in telesonic chronoplasty, finally reissued.
From the original liner notes:
"Halfway through 2012, GNAUMGN decided to perform an Experiment in Remote Hearing, permeating the barriers of Time and Space with Occult Sonics. The experiment was this:
1) A Demon Sheen and Professor Prescott-Steed would independently record around about half-an-hour's worth of improvised material, both focusing on roughly what they would've done if they'd been performing a regular GNAUMGN piece together - ie, A Demon Sheen mostly played percussive junk and noises, Professor Prescott-Steed mainly played electric guitar, etc.
2) These recordings, performed at different times and 143 kilometres apart, would then be layered over each other. No edits would be made.
This recording is the result. As you can hear, GNAUMGN is pretty much the same whether or not the two musicians are in the same room, or separated by immense amounts of time and space. Proof of their psychic musickal connection, or just their inability to listen to each other?
The mix of shoegaze, punk, and noise from this Seattle band is notable for its urgency and bright, foregrounded vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 9, 2023
Four new rowdy, impossibly catchy songs from this post-punk group who bridge rough-edged New Zealand-style pop with darker, steelier sounds. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 31, 2018
